British Pancakes 🥞...... (or Classic French Crepe's)

We kind of gave up on the idea of Vegan pancakes (British style) after our horrendous failings with Yorkshire Pudding attempts (egg replacers are NOT my friend). However, on a late-night google, the other half was reminiscing about his Nan's pancakes and found a Vegan crepe recipe🥞.

Side note - We all know these are BRITISH pancakes which the French STOLE. Crepe Smepe. These are pancakes!!

These were exactly like pancakes BV (Before Vegan), and god help my ever-expanding quarantine waistline, they are AMAZING. When you veganize something like this, and you really can't taste the difference, it's heaven.

We served these with lashes of fresh lemon juice and a couple of teaspoons of sugar and really, that is all they need to take them to god-level pancake status. 🤤💚

So here's what you'll need:

  • 1 3/4 cup White flour

  • 2 3/4 cup Oat Milk

  • 2 tablespoon Coconut oil or vegetable oil of your choice ( and a tsp to grease the pan)

  • Sugar and Fresh Lemon Juice for the filing (and a smidge of icing sugar for dusting)


  • Use either a blender of an electric whisk and blend all the ingredients together until smooth. The batter should be more watery than an American pancake, and similar to the consistency of a Yorkshire pudding batter.

  • Heat a lightly oiled frying pan over medium/high heat. We recommend using coconut oil and a piece of absorbent paper to avoid adding too much oil. 

  • Scoop the batter onto the pan, then tip and rotate the pan to spread batter as thinly as possible.

  • Brown on both sides about 1-2 minutes on each side and serve hot with lemon and sugar!


As we are both trying to keep track of our nutrition, we had a look at some other vegan crepe recipes and found this as the one that fits best with ours, this will give you an almost exact match to the nutritional value of these crepes. This does not include sugar or lemon.
