Crossroads Kitchen Vegan Street Food Festival! πŸ’šπŸ₯³

Words cannot really express the level of sheer herbivorous excitement I have in telling you all that the Doha Marriott Marquis is providing us with a VEGAN STREET FOOD FESTIVAL!!!!πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Launching next week, Crossroad's Kitchen, under the incredibly talented Chef Oliver Weber has come up with an absolute smorgasbord of vegan deliciousness, and we, my dear plant-eaters, had the privilege of trying it.🀀🌱

This is available for pick up from the hotel, and also dine in at Crossroads, you just need to give them 24 hours notice. It serves 2 people, and it costs QR 370 (QR185 per person). Now, there is no way on earth that two people could get through this in one sitting (and believe me, we tried). This fed us for the entire weekend (#nocookweekends), and in hindsight, we would definitely have had friends over to share. This is a perfect party platter sized feast, you could easily feed 4 people (maybe more) with this. Value for your buck?? HELL YES. πŸ€‘

For takeaway, it's pre-cooked then chilled, and comes with a set of nifty reheating instructions, to make sure you reheat it perfectly - as if it came straight out the Crossroads Kitchen.πŸ™Œ

So, heeeeeeere's the menu:

Everything tasted absolutely delicious, but there was some stand out winners, let us focus on them as let's face it, there are 17 items on this menu and who wants to read a 20-page review😴???

The ginger & carrot soup was rich, thick and super creamy, the fresh baguette with it made for homely perfection.

The Cobb Salad was full of fresh flavours and textures, the vegan ranch dressing was AMAZING.

The Sweet Potato Quinoa Salad was scrumptious. Golden roasted cubes of sweet potato, delicious greens and a tangy dressing.

The Mezze selection came with fresh veggies and Arabic bread and packed a range of delicious flavours. Creamy, rich and everything a good Arabic Mezze should be.

The spinach Burek and falafel was out of this world. Now we all know there are some incredible little eateries which do incredible falafel (shout out to Petra!), but these bad boys definitely give them a run for their money.

The Beyond bolognese was smokey, surrounded with rich, delicious Italian flavours, making it the winner of the comfort food prize in our books.

The Thai curry was the other half's favourite hands down, alongside the sweet and sour cauliflower ( AMAZING) and the wok-fried noodles. Fragrant, aromatic and packing a flavourful punch with every bite, we LOVED them.

The cake, already a winner in our vegan community (originally found in Quick Bites), is a perfect finish to the meal. Perhaps consider adding a drop of your favourite adult beverage to the punch, we did, and it was amazing.

This, my friends, is just a wee sprinkling of the delicacies involved in this feast. Added to the menu since we tried were the smokey carrot dogs (Chef initially didn't believe me when I told him how good these were.....) and the jack fruit sliders, which happily means WE GET TO ORDER AGAIN!!!! #happydance πŸ•ΊπŸ’ƒ

Marriott Marquis Doha, hats off to you. Well done for spotting this massive gap in the market, and catering for our ever-growing vegan community. A special thank you to Rupert Wilson for leading the vegan charge, and to Chef Oliver Weber for his jaw-droppingly good food πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘.

Please place your orders (24 hours in advance) via WhatsApp on 66436890.

Enjoy fellow herbivores!!! πŸŒ±πŸ’šπŸ€—
